It is with sadness that the death is announced of J V Davis. John was a former master at the school and a stalwart member of the Association and committee member as well as a regular at the dinner. He never did forgive gentleman removing their jackets before the Queen was drunk.

That’s very sad news – an excellent teacher and I think it’s no lie to say that without him I would never have passed O Level Maths second time round!
Like his father Arthur Davis, ‘JV’ was a key menber of the Old Bournemouthians cricket section in the forties and fifties and also took part in the Dorset Dodgers fixtures in the sixties.and seventies
