Raymond George Rush, an Old Boy who was at the school between 1947-52, has passed away at the age of 79. He was living with his wife, Paulette Rush in Santa Barbara de Nexe, the Algarve, Portugal.

I guess this must be the George Rush who, as I distantly recall, stood as Communist candidate (in ultra-Conservative Bournemouth) in the “mock” election which was held at the School alongside a General Election in the early 1950s. He was quite a popular lad, who led an entertaining campaign, and who did rather well in the said election. Although he was a near neighbour, I don’t remember anything further about him.
